Single bottle of Nervestra

If you've been a reader of my blog, you know I'm pretty hesitant to believe anything that is said by supplements or treatments that promise to ease neuropathy symptoms, since it's such a complex condition.

So when I discovered Nervestra, I was of course, very skeptical.

In this review, I'm going what I learned about this product and also what other customers reviews said about it. And finally, I'll give you my honest recommendation on whether or not you should buy it.

What Is Nervestra?

Nervestra is a relatively new product designed to benefit people who suffer from nerve damage. The manufacturer describes it as a “natural” and “complex remedy” that promises to accomplish these three things:

  1. nourish your body with a proprietary blend of nutrients
  2. meant to support healthy nerve function and
  3. help with neuropathy symptom relief.

But does it actually do any of these things?

UPDATE: We no longer recommend Nervestra has recently gone formulation changes that customers are not happy with. Due to a lack of transparency in the ingredient dosages, we no longer recommend it.

How Does It Work?

Peripheral neuropathy is a condition that occurs when peripheral nerves are damaged. This condition mostly affects persons 55 years of age or older or persons who have had physical trauma to the nerves. There is no cure for neuropathy, only treatment for the pain associated with it.

Symptoms of neuropathy are wide-ranging, including anything like muscle pain, twitching, numbness, burning sensations, tingling (pins and needles), and nerve pain, among many other symptoms.

Nervestra is formulated with herbs and vitamins meant to counter these symptoms. The ingredients of Nervestra were specifically chosen for potency, effectiveness, and complementary benefits.

The 4 main ingredients are: (1) turmeric; (2) omega fatty acids; (3) spirulina; and (4) alpha lipoic acid, and work collectively by individually countering different aspects and causes of neuropathy pain.

  1. Turmeric is an ingredient many chefs love to use. But in recent years, many nutritionists have found serious benefits of the spice when used in certain quantities. The spice is now well-known for its powerful value as an anti-inflammatory and anti-aging supplement. Part of the problem with neuropathy is inflammation; in other words, the numbness, burning, or tingling sensations most associated with the condition. Turmeric helps improve circulation and blood flow, thus, reducing inflammation.
  2. Omega fatty acids are essential for healthy nerve cell function, and many people simply don’t get enough omegas. Though both omega 3 and omega 6 are important, omega 3 plays a larger role to help repair and maintain nerve cells. Thurs, with regard to neuropathy and damaged or disrupted nerves, the right quantity and combination of omegas can help restore and rejuvenate nerve cells, even help stimulate the growth of new, healthy nerve cells.
  3. Spirulina serves many benefits, including benefits to nerve function. Spirulina is a blue-green algae and is fortified naturally (as opposed to synthetically) with high concentrations of B vitamins. B vitamins help nerves build a protective barrier, the myelin sheath, and with this protection nerve function is improved and is enabled to perform as it should. On the other hand, it should be noted that a deficiency in B vitamins is in part what scientists believe aids and abets neuropathy in older aged persons. Supplementing one’s diet with the same can contribute to a reduction in nerve damage as well as an increase in the birth of new nerve cells.
  4. Alpha lipoic acid is known for its use against pain associated with neuropathy and has been used for the same for years. As a strong antioxidant, it removes free-radicals and restores damage from the same.  In doing so, it eases pain associated with numbness, tingling, burning, and other symptoms.

Ingredients

Apart from the 4 main components listed above, there are other beneficial ingredients in Nervestra. Below listed are all the ingredients and a description of each as it refers to neuropathy.

  • B-vitamins (B1, B6, B12) are essential vitamins for a healthy nervous system, including the function to form red blood cells and act as a coenzyme to synthesize neurotransmitters. Several studies have identified the integral role that complex B vitamins play in treatment of peripheral neuropathy, including a 2008 study identifying generally the same conclusion but with the caveat additional studies are required.
  • Folic Acid is a water-soluble B vitamin; it is essential to the production of nucleic acid. A recent study published by the Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism found that folic acid combined with vitamin B12 decreased conditions that lead to peripheral neuropathy, and therefore, supplementation of the the two vitamins should be used to counter symptoms of neuropathy.
  • Acetyl-L-Carnitine is made from L-carnitine in the body; L-carnitine is an amino acid. Acetyl-L-Carnitine does not produce protein as may be suggested since it is created from a protein. Instead, it creates energy. And according to a study published by Diabetes Care, it also improves pain and nerve regeneration in people suffering from neuropathy.
  • Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is an antioxidant that destroys free radicals in the body. As mentioned, this nerve pain supplement is well known in the medical field for its benefits to patients suffering from neuropathy. According to the a study published in International Journal of Endocrinology, “alpha lipoic acid leads to a significant and clinically relevant reduction in neuropathic pain.”
  • Passionflower is a plant, and the parts that grow above ground are used for a variety of medicinal purposes. The chemicals in this plant can have a calming effect on the nervous system and provide relief for inflammation. A study published recently by BMC Complementary Alternative Medicine suggests that it could “be useful for treating neuropathic pain.”
  • Turmeric is an Asian plant used mostly in cooking until recent years when its medicinal properties were revealed in a number of studies. The Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences published a study identifying this ingredient as an option for treatment of neuropathy.
  • White Willow Bark is bark from the white willow tree. The bark is used to create medicines, using the primary component salicin, which is believed to significantly help with pain caused by inflammation. No study has been associated with neuropathy and white willow bark specifically, but several studies identify white willow bark’s significant anti-inflammatory effects. There is some but not serious concern that this supplement can have side effects and should generally not be used by people with certain conditions.
  • Skullcap herb is plant, and the part that grow above ground are used for medicinal purposes. Skullcap herb is believed to support the nervous system and help prevent swelling or inflammation, which is significant in people who suffer from neuropathy. No scientific studies have confirmed the same.
  • Spirulina is blue-green often referred to as a superfood because it is loaded with nutrition, including essential and non-essential amino acids, gamma-linolenic acid, beta-carotene, iron, vitamin Bs, chlorophyll, and many other nutrients. No scientific studies have been conducted on spirulina and neuropathy, but the high content of vitamin Bs, which are relevant to neuropathy, seem to indicate spirulina as a good source of natural vitamin Bs.
  • Devil’s Claw Root is an herb used for many medical purposes. With regard to neuropathy, it is used to decrease inflammation and swelling and the pain that results form the same. A study published in Molecules suggests that the herb does indeed provide relief for pain associated with neuropathic pain.

Reviews: What Customers Say About It

Customers either really love it or don’t care for it at all, with most leaning towards loving it. There is a medium ground where customers say it kind of works and will continue to use it to see how it improves.

"I've been using Nervestra, as recommended, for 1 month. Just started 2nd bottle. I've noticed minor improvement. Not the improvement I expected. Will give it another month. Could be that my neuropathy will not respond to OTC meds. Will see Dr next month." - by Sonny (Walmart)"

Those who love Nervestra say that what was once unbearable pain is now manageable pain. One Nervestra review on Amazon said, “Nothing ever makes me say wow. But this did.”

Another reviewer wrote how surprised she was, saying:

“I can't believe it, but it did help with nerve pain, especially before bed time. Not a cure, but it sure did help!”

Nervestra is not meant to be a cure, but it is meant to help with the pain, so here, the job was done what was intended to be done.

Those who love it say that what was once unbearable pain is now manageable pain. One reviewer on Amazon said, “it seems to have slightly reduced numbness and tingling in my feet.”

Customer Complaints

Others complained about the taste being awful, yet the results being better than expected.

As for those who didn’t like it, they complain it didn’t work for them and there was concern about the high content of vitamins.

One reviewer claimed his doctor said that the “extremely high vitamin content could mask blood test results or cause false positive/negatives.”

A customer review of Nervestra who was unhappy

Others complained after days to three weeks, there were no results yet. For instance one reviewer stated:

“I have taken it twice a day since it arrived 20 days ago. Has not made any difference with my nerve pain.”

Right along with the same, many complained there were no immediate pain relief.  One interesting complaint were by users who said the ingredients were not the same as indicated in the description. One reviewer said:

“it does contain turmeric which is supposed to help with nerve pain but the amount seems negligible. It does not even list the percentage of turmeric.”

One reviewer claims to have experienced an increase in her Nerve Pain:

"I truly hate to leave a 1 star review however, I have to say that this product sent me through the roof with nerve pain! Holy Cow! It took me several hours to be out of pain after using the product once. Everyone is different so perhaps this product will work for you but I can only give my personal experience with this product."

Most complaints, however, are written by people who admittedly have not taken the product for at least one month.

Money Back Guarantee?

Through its no-questions-asked policy, a customer is able to receive a full refund of the purchase if not satisfied. To benefit from this money-back guarantee, the product must be returned at the expense of the customer. The company recommends using the product for at least one month to determine how effective the product is for each individual customer.

Where To Buy

Overall, the product contains ingredients which are known to address some of the biggest symptoms associated with neuropathy. With a money-back guarantee, there seems to be no harm in trying a product that could potentially and significantly relieve neuropathic pain. The money-back guarantee apparently applies regardless where you buy the product. Also, the product appears to be safe; there are no reports of it causing any serious negative side effects with users.

Final Conclusion? NOT Recommended. Here's Why:

Although Nervestra includes some ingredients that research suggests can have an impact to relieve pain for people who suffer from neuropathy, there are several concerns I had which leave me no choice but to not recommend it.

Here's why I do not recommend it:

  1. Unpleasant Taste: This is purely my personal opinion, but I can't stand the taste! I can drink green smoothies and swallow pills no problem, but I just couldn't stomach the taste of this. And to me, it's not worth dreading having to force it down every day when there are better alternatives out there.
  2. Questionable Ingredients: A few herbs have little hard-scientific evidence supporting their effectiveness or use. This could be a concern if the overall ingredients were not beneficial. This might be why I wasn't impressed with the results. I'm not alone either, many other users felt the same way and experienced no benefits.
  3. Dosage: The primary ingredients used in this formula are included in a proprietary blend, which means you don't know the exact dosage of each ingredient. This is bad because too little of certain ingredients offer no benefits whatsoever, while too much of other ingredients cause the negative side effects.

So rather than risk your money on something that might work (and doesn't taste great), I recommend trying a product many of my readers have been very satisfied with called Nerve Renew.

They've been in business since 2011 (so you know they aren't here today and gone tomorrow) and they offer the best money back guarantee I've ever seen - 365 days to try the product to see if it works.

In my opinion, as of March, 2023 this is the best alternative to Nervestra available. I searched everywhere I could online to find the best price for you, so make sure you click the button below for best savings.
